Although this festival is primarily for the Tamil Hindu community, the Buddhist communities also were drawn into this festival. The festival ran for twelve consecutive days and each day the temple was full of devotees praying and taking part in the religious rituals performed at scheduled auspicious time. The inhabitants of Bandarawela celebrated the festival in harmony with the spirit of the “Bagawath Geetha’s” teachings irrespective of caste, creed, colour and religion.
Thousands of devotees both Hindus and Buddhists participated in the event with devotion and offered poojas and performed rituals as well.

The students of nearby schools had also come to witness the tri chariots and participated in the poojas and rituals to obtain divine blessings. The Devasthana administrative committee members V. Maruthapillai J.P, the managing trustee, M. Jayakumar, A. Ganeshan, A. Sivabalan and M.S. Nithiyanandan had undertaken this herculean task and successfully executed the festival.
