    The Hindu Temple of Ottawa-Carleton is a religious, non-profit, charitable organization incorporated in Ontario, Canada. Located on a 4 hectare property in the National Capital Region, the Temple is planned as a center of Learning for Vedanta, the Hindu philosophy.

    The Temple was consecrated with Avartam Kumbha Abhishekam and Pran-Pratishtha, on Vijaya Dashmi, Shalivahana Shaka 1911, Vikram Samvat 2045, Kaliyuga 5091 (October10, 1989). The Temple has risen entirely through the generous donations of devotees, as a monument of Hindu religious heritage and a place for Hindu worship and meditation. There are 954 Trustees of the Temple who elect a board of 18 directors to manage the activities.

    The Temple is open from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm from Monday to Friday. On Saturday, Sunday,. Hindu festivals and New Year’s Day it is open from 8:30 am to 8:30 pm. The resident priests (Pundits) attend to the spiritual and ritual needs of the entire Hindu community. Festivals and special days (parva) celebrated by Hindus in different parts of India and the world are observed.
