Sri Ayyappa Society of Tampa
Shrines and temples dedicated to Lord Ayyappa have been built all over the world including USA and Canada. The various abodes of Sri Ayyappa are attracting thousands of devotees year round. Sri Ayyappa Society of Tampa Inc. (SASTA) was formed in 2000 by several Ayyappa devotees in Tampa Bay area with a primary object of building an Ayyappa shrine with 18 steps and establish proper Ayyappa Pooja services. Registered in Florida as an independent religious organization, SASTA is conducting Ayyappa poojas and various cultural as well as educational events so as to promote the awareness of Dharma Sasta. SASTA currently have over 500 registered devotees.
Activities of SASTA
Conduct and participate in Swamy Ayyappa pooja in and around Tampa Bay area.
Disseminate information about Hindu traditions in general and Ayyappa- Dharma Sasta worship in particular.
Help devotees to sponsor Maha Ayyappa pooja at least four times a year through SASTA.
Hold cultural entertainment programs of general interest to preserve and propagate music and dances.
Help devotees taking to various Hindu pilgrimages, in Vratha observances and worship guidance.
Teach bhajans & stothrams.
Teach vaadya melom.
To spread friendship and a sense of equality among all.
Releases yearly souvenir with pictures and articles of Ayyappa.
